You know it's a good textbook because it says espresso on it :)
Also, this weekend, I'm going to Rome (!!!!!) with some of the other girls on the trip. We spent a few hours this afternoon trying to do some planning. Mostly this involved sitting around and looking at different hostels, comparing the prices, locations, and ratings, and just being generally confused. But we did pick one, and put down a deposit so it was very successful. We leave Friday morning!
I don't really have anything else to share right now, but I did want to post this picture of the textbook, so y'all can enjoy that.
Ciao for now!

Fabulous. Enjoy Rome. When you get back to Florence go see David if that's available. Love you
ReplyDeleteNahoma -- a few things --
ReplyDelete1. That is the same textbook we started with in the Italian classes I've been taking! We finished it and now we're on the second volume -- a red espresso. (il libro rosso)
2. I, too, went to mass when I was there -- a couple of times. (it was all in Latin then) I also went to a synagogue one Friday evening. I don't remember exactly where it was. It was just off of the piazza del campo, not that far from where we took classes at the University. There were only a handful of people there.
3. I think most of us did buy a nice purse or wallet while we there, and we definitely bought sweaters. Mohair was very popular then, and the exchange rate with the lira was very much in our favor. It was nice to wear the memories of Italy.
4. You will love Roma for so many reasons. But after taking Latin, it was great for me to see things like the colliseum and the pantheon, and I hope it will be for you too. I loved it all.
5. I watch an Italian tv station here (RIA). I love a quiz show, called L'Eredita, and then there's Don Matteo, and Commissario Montalbano (detective shows) Does your host family watch any of those?
6. I agree with your grandmother, go to see the statue of David if you can. It is magnificent.
Thanks again for writing the blog. As you can probably tell, I am so enjoying it.
